Sharing is Wonderful

If we desire to live our lives delivering happiness to our community, it is worth trying to do something new every day and make the new day a better than the previous one.

Sharing

Sharing knowledge is a wonderful thing, physicians live a life based on being inspired from knowledge and advancing currently applied techniques.

That's why I try not to miss conventions. In some congresses I share my experiences, but many congresses are in fact my ongoing schooling, my never-ending specialization education.

I compiled some topics I recently learned about in some congresses I attended this year. I follow developments in these topics with excitement.

The area I am most interested in are the advancements in the evaluation of patients with a holistic perspective in anti-aging applications. Although I am a dermatologist with enthusiastic fascination about injection methods and laser applications, during my daily practice at the clinic, I am investigating how we can age healthily. For my clients and for myself.

Genetics is one of the fields that I am most interested in, and one of the fastest growing areas. Recently, I am hearing a lot about genetic tests from my patients who live abroad. I too had a skin test performed here, in Turkey. The results revealed that I have a tendency to skin spots as well as a tendency to loss of elasticity. I had already figured this out by experience, as I had been dealing with my troublesome spots for years. But the loss of elasticity that awaited me was a surprise. Consequently, I scheduled firming treatments on my agenda. I would like to state that, a tracking program which will be designed specifically for the person according to genetic dispositions may be a very wise thing to do. It can save us from wasting money on useless dermo cosmetics. The test can even determine which nutritional supplements we should use. It's definitely an area I'll be following with interest.

There are other very interesting topics, for example, we should prefer aerobic sports as the most compatible form of sports for healthy aging. An important issue debated was how much posture affects the dynamics of both physical and internal organs. I reminisced about my mother's struggles with my posture and realized how right she was. The new posture brought about many persons due to the use of smartphones can even accelerate the formation of double chin (jowl).

Antioxidants and nutritional supplements have become an essential support for people living in metropolitan areas. There is a lot of emphasis on resveratrol. If two glasses of red wine are consumed, a very sufficient amount of antioxidant supplement can be obtained, sample surveys were also included in a presentation. Secondly, Turmeric was also a popular antioxidant. The emphasis on importance of antioxidant support hormone replacement (estrogen, growth hormone, testosterone) provisions was very inspiring.

One of the important topics that was discussed for many hours was how to prevent the effects of carbohydrate metabolism end products which are responsible for significant damage to the tissues, known as AGE (an abbreviation of the initials of Advanced Glycation Endproducts). Frankly, this AGE issue is an issue that I have been able to understand better and better with each case in my clinical practice throughout the years. I have had a hard time solving it. I would like to give an example: I could not achieve the same rate of success with some of my patients who had similar acne in the same age group, although I applied the same treatment, up until I learned about the mechanism the AGE formation could create. We have observed that the success rate of a patient who is able to discipline nutrition regime increases very rapidly and consequently acne can heal without leaving a trace. To site another example, the success of my micro-focused ultrasound application for loss of elasticity can provide faster and more dramatic improvement in a patient who wisely selects carbohydrates and consumes them in a controlled manner. With topically applied creams, the damage caused by AGEs on the skin can be eliminated specifically. This even contributes to maintaining a healthier skin flora.

Yes, I'm a dermatologist, but in recent years I have been assigning more importance to holism, I try to take good care of my organs one by one. Because they all need to function properly; for my patients, for my family, and a little bit for myself.

I wish you a comprehensive view of yourself and life.
